Cali Shaw was born and raised in Northern California and spent his childhood in San Francisco and the Bay Area before moving to New Mexico later in life. The song is inspired by a recent trip to northern California, reconnecting with family, a coastal drive up the highway 1 and through the majestic redwood forest.
